What’s it like to swim with us?

Swim dates

The first swim of the season will be on Sunday 5th October 2025, after which it will be each Sunday until the last swim before Christmas on Sunday 21st December. Swims will restart on Sunday 4th January 2026 and run until the final swim of the season on Sunday 29th March.

In all cases, the swims will be from 8:30 to 9:30pm. Please arrive by 8:15, latecomers may not be admitted.

Cost

The fees for the 2025/26 season will be £8 per swim (there is no membership fee this year).

At present, we operate on a cash only basis but we are working towards accepting card payments. There is also an option to pay for the pre-Christmas sessions in advance, with the incentive of one free session (for details of payment options please sign up to our mailings using the ‘Contact’ page).

Location

Dover District Leisure Centre, Fitness Fields, Whitfield, Dover, CT16 3FZ

Facilities

Dover leisure centre is very modern, with good changing facilities and a 25m pool with some lanes and some free swimming areas. We also have use of the sauna and steam room adjacent to the pool.

Please bring your towel into the pool area and sit on it in the sauna or steam room.

What should I bring?

  • Towel and shower gel

  • Cash for entry and membership

  • On your first visit we will need to see a proof of identity (e.g. driving licence or BN membership card)

  • £1 coin for the locker (returnable)

Do I need to be a good swimmer?

No - many of our members go for the social aspects of swimming and stay in the shallow end. One of our members has learnt to swim at our sessions with the help of other members; on the other hand we have a record breaking Channel swimmer in the club so you can hack out the lengths if that’s your thing.

Will it be embarrassing?

The first experience of naturism can seem a little daunting but you will be welcomed by other members of the same gender and within minutes it will all feel completely natural.
